The last work in Mozart's short but prolific life. Receiving a commission to compose a "Requiem" from an anonymous patron, Mozart did not finish the work before his death in December of 1791, but as completed by his pupil Sussmayer, it remains a truly moving mass for the dead which is frequently performed by choirs around the world.
