I have been a member of Ebay for a while now and I find it brilliant, it is easy to join, all you need is a bank account and a few minutes to register for an Ebay account, you also have to set up a Paypal account which again only takes a few minutes and both are absolutely free, once you have done this you are up and running for both buying and selling on Ebay.

Auctions or Buy it now

You can either bid on items in the auctions or go to the buy it now section and get the item that you are after straight away, both ways are good, but sometimes in the auction you have to wait days for the listing to end, then again you can watch the item you want to buy in My Ebay section, which is at the top of your ebay home page, you can keep track of all your activites in this section, weather you are buying or selling, also you can log into your paypal account or make a list of your favourite sellers, this section is for your personal information on your ebay activities.

Paying for an item

When you buy an item and pay for it using, Paypal they pay the seller the amount required for you straight away, then they take it from your bank account a few days later, (usually about three days).
Then when you recieve your goods you leave feedback for the seller and they do the same for you, before buying or selling you can check a members feedback to see if it is positive or negitive, this is to show other members who the good Ebayers are.
Selling on Ebay

You can also sell any unwanted items you might have, again this is easy to do, just describe your item, choose what category it goes into and then add a picture of your item and thats your item listed.there is a small fee for this, but is only a few pence. approx 15p per picture added
If you dont recieve your item

Goods not recieved

There is a section where you can go to open a dispute, if you have paid for goods but did not recieve them, then this helps you to get a refund, which gives peace of mind .

Ebay is good for bargains or for those hard to get items, although sometimes you are better of just to buy the item from the shop, as some things are nearly the same price anyway, although this does not happen all the time, you do get bargains very often, I would highly recomend it .

I first joined ebay in 2002 but didnt really look at it or do anything until late last year. Hubby and I had alot of things just taking up room so we looked into selling on Ebay and that is how it started!

It is very easy to join up with ebay, you have two options. Either use an email address from a service provider e.g BT or NTL or use a different email address and put a credit or debit card on file. I think this is just to verify you and they dont use the card details for anything else.

They only need a few bits from you, name, address, phone number and they also want you to provide a username and password so that you can log into ebay.

After you have registered you can start to buy and sell. If you want to sell on ebay you can either put a credit or debit card on file or you can pay your ebay selling fees via a cheque or postal order or by direct debit.
